Grad CCD Student Policies
Your active engagement is a cornerstone of your experience at Babson College’s FW Olin School of Business. We encourage you to leverage the resources available to deepen self-awareness, expand your network, and embody Babson’s entrepreneurial spirit. Please review the following policies, which are designed to support your accountability to both yourself and your peers.
Unless there’s an emergency, students are expected to adhere to Grad CCD policies for appointments, career ed and recruiting events.
APPOINTMENTS
- Grad CCD’s 30-60 minute appointment slots provide students with essential time for career planning and goal setting each semester. After scheduling appointments, you are expected to cancel within 24 hrs of the time of your appointment. Failure to do so will result in your advisor having to mark you as a no show for our records.
- If you are a no show twice, you will be required to meet with the Director of Grad CCD to discuss future scheduling of appointments before you can meet with your advisor again.
- If after meeting with the Director of Grad CCD you are a no show to an appointment for a third time, you will lose access to Career Connect until you meet with your advisor to reset expectations.
On Campus: While we work to ensure several available slots for in-person Grad CCD group offerings, space is limited. It’s therefore your responsibility to notify Grad CCD within 24hrs that you will be unable to attend so we can open the slot for another student.
Virtual: Grad CCD advisors plan for sessions to be interactive. Online attendance and participation are monitored. It’s your responsibility to notify Grad CCD within 24 hours that you will be unable to attend so we can open space for another student and plan accordingly.
Please note that Grad CCD reviews the number of times a student has failed to attend Grad CCD sessions when deciding a student’s future access to recruiting events with employers.
Employers engage with Babson graduate talent through panels, information sessions, and our Fall and Spring Career Fairs. Their diverse approaches to recruiting require you to be prepared for a variety of formats and interactions. As you represent the Babson brand, these moments are key opportunities to build your network and position yourself for internships and full-time roles.
The two-hour window for career fairs is designed to offer students flexibility in arrival time. To make the most of your interactions, we emphasize professionalism in both conduct and communication. If unprofessional behavior is reported—either during the event or through post-fair feedback—Grad CCD will follow up with you to provide guidance and support for future engagement.
For Career Fairs, you are expected to:
- Do your research on the companies in attendance. You are required to know what companies you’re interested in and why for engaging conversations
- Check in at the appropriate registration table if you have pre-registered or on the waitlist.
- Wait patiently as Grad CCD staff monitor space and allow students to enter the fair for safety considerations
- Respect the time of employers and your peers. Do not take up an excessive amount of time speaking with a company representative as long lines form behind you
- Dress Professionally. If, for example, you arrive at the fair in jeans or sweatpants, a member of the Grad CCD team will advise you to leave and return in the appropriate attire.
Failure to follow through on the above will reflect poorly on you and impact future access to recruiting opportunities through Grad CCD.
