Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to join our Lending Team of Wholesale Banking as Associate of Portfolio Management . This is a lending professional role within the front office.
As a key member of the Portfolio Management team, your responsibility is to actively manage the lending portfolio of Spain & Portugal and optimize returns through strong analytics and capital velocity. You will join a multi-sector and multi-product team (Real Estate Finance, Energy, Infra, Telecommunications, Acquisition Finance), although your role will be mainly focused on project finance transactions in the Energy & Infrastructure sectors . You will collaborate with a wide range of teams -Transaction Management, Capital Markets & Advisory, Risk, Global Credit Restructuring, Legal and more- while aligning with back office / support teams. At the same time, the Portfolio Management team plays a key role in further optimizing our processes for regulatory readiness, operational effectiveness and portfolio optimization.
The Portfolio Management team will be the ‘center of ecellence’ for the in-life management of ING’s WB lending eposure. It covers all activities post the initial funding to the final repayment of a lending transaction. As a front office department, it will closely collaborate with Origination & Structuring colleagues and product specialists to ensure a seamless client eperience. The Portfolio Management function will be organized along product and sector considerations. Each portfolio manager will cover a set of portfolio clients and act as the first point of contact for ongoing credit monitoring, analytics, internal risk and other reporting. Portfolio Management supports the identification of cross-buy opportunities and is also closely involved in the delivery of ING’s capital velocity targets. The team will be supported by Global Lending Support in Dublin and the ING hub in the Philippines. It will be a key driver of improving processes, standardization, and digitalization across Lending.
Your key responsibilities:
- The specific responsibilities of an Associate include actively managing together with the Portfolio Managers all facets of the individual files booked in your dedicated portfolio, including but not limited to:
- Quarterly and annual credit reviews;
- Process amendment and waiver requests, credit review process (write or review credit modifications, perform financial analysis, cash flow-based modeling and sensitivity analysis, perform sustainable transaction assessment, submit to risk and address Q&A), follow-up on the required legal amendments to the documentation until e
- equation;
- Review annual risk rating updates prepared by an administrative support team;
- Diligent and proactive credit monitoring through the review of all financial covenants and operating performance (eg financial models, proforma adjustments, key drivers, etc.) and track compliance of covenants prepared by an administrative support team;
- Identification and resolution of Early Warning Signals, Unlikely to Pay assessment, Forbearance assessment, Default for a deterioration in credit quality.
- In addition, an Associate will monitor and identify together with the Portfolio Managers market developments and proactively manage their potential impact on your portfolio by
- Preparing and maintaining reports as requested by regulators or internal stakeholders;
- Preparing quarterly Credit Risk Management (“CRM”) portfolio reviews;
- Maintaining various department and industry databases/trackers;
- Maintaining internal portfolio tracking metrics;
- Responding to ad hoc internal requests on portfolio composition and e
- pose;
- Coordinating and working with offshore portfolio support teams;
- Managing lending limits and Capital Velocity programs.
- An Associate will take active part in the various Virtual Client Teams by
- Interfacing with relationship managers and sector specialists to ensure an active dialogue on credit trends, challenges and opportunities for individual clients;
- Contributing to idea generation for value added cross-buy or client opportunities.
- An Associate is epected to build a culture of operational e
- cellence by
- Staying up to date on organizational operating policies and procedures (ie Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure appropriate protocols are implemented and followed, and facilitating accordingly;
- Contributing to the implementation of strategic initiatives, including enhancements to the credit monitoring process to improve business efficiency;
- Supporting the implementation of transformation projects;
- Coaching more junior colleagues (Analysts, trainees and interns) by supporting them in their personal and professional development;
- Contributing to improve data quality monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications / Education:
- University degree major in business, economics, engineering or other relevant business discipline with above-average academic degrees. CFA and/ or MBA are a plus.
Experience / Knowledge:
2-5 years of relevant experience
- expertise in structuring Project Finance deals preferably in the Energy sector in an international environment.

Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Wholesale Banking Lending Team as an Associate of Portfolio Management. This is a professional lending role within the front office.
As a key member of the Portfolio Management team, your responsibility will be to actively manage the lending portfolio in Spain and Portugal and optimize returns through robust analytics and capital velocity. Each portfolio manager will cover a portfolio of clients and act as the first point of contact for ongoing credit monitoring, analytics, internal risk reporting, and other reporting. Portfolio Management supports the identification of cross-buy opportunities and is also closely involved in achieving ING’s capital velocity targets. The team will receive support from Global Lending Support in Dublin and ING’s hub in the Philippines. It will be a key driver for process improvement, standardization, and digitalization in Lending.

Training / Education:
