Who We Are

Jessica Chance is the Director of the Graduate Center for Career Development where she leads a talented group of career professionals that support full and part-time students in Babson’s MBA and MS programs, and the undergrad and graduate alumni of Babson.

Jessica’s experience spans over 20 years in higher education developing students and alumni and providing bridges to help learners transition from students to professionals. At Boston College and Emerson College, she implemented career readiness programming and services for a range of groups that included graduate students, international students, student athletes, and historically underrepresented students. This programming included alumni and employer engagement focused on diversity recruiting. A throughline in her career is the power of the career story and one’s ability to communicate with impact.

Her leadership in career education and programming geared towards innovators and creatives at all stages of career is one of the drivers of her work as a member of the F.W. Olin School for Business community.

Fun Fact: As a writer and actor, Jessica has performed in live theatre with Company One Theatre, short films and commercial work, and being in staged readings with the Front Porch Arts Collective.

Margaret is an experienced advisor and leadership professional. She is highly skilled in the areas of career development and coaching, client service, and business development. She also leads initiatives, including management of the Interview Coach Program and advancement of inclusive excellence, aiming to enhance business models that reflect diverse perspectives and experiences. Known for her relationship-building, strategic thinking, and coaching strengths, Margaret is deeply committed to fostering meaningful connections between students, alumni and employers. 

Margaret brings a broad range of staffing and career management experience to Babson, with particular expertise in corporate accounting and financial services. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she left her native Chicago to work as an auditor in the Boston office of a top public accounting firm. She later gained recruitment experience at Positions Inc., a boutique staffing firm, and subsequently returned to public accounting as Director of Recruiting for Management Consulting at Ernst & Young. 

As Director of the Graduate School of Professional Accounting at Northeastern University, Margaret leveraged her combined background in accounting and recruiting. In this role, she particularly valued building strong, supportive relationships with graduate students and employer partners.

Fun Fact: Margaret has done voice-over and print model work in the past and once appeared on a life-size billboard in the Arlington T-stop in Boston.

Steve brings a wealth of leadership experience and successful track record in both academia and industry. In his current role as the Senior Associate Director of Employer Engagement at Babson College, he is responsible for driving employment opportunities for Babson’s grad students.  Prior to Babson, Steve was the Senior Director of Strategic Alliances at Northeastern University where he formulated and launched a partnership program for the College of Computer Sciences. Before Northeastern, Steve was the Assistant Director of Global Strategic Alliances at MIT’s Computer Science and AI Lab (CSAIL) where he grew memberships in the industry alliance program and managed the client relations & marketing team.  

Steve’s experience as an entrepreneur in scaling businesses includes his past role as the Vice President of Business Development, Board Member and co-owner of a start-up called OpenALPR Technology Inc., a software company that developed AI/ML based license plate and vehicle recognition software that was sold to Rekor Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: REKR) in March 2019. Steve executed a growth strategy for OpenALPR to a successful exit at a valuation of 10x revenue.  Prior to OpenALPR he worked for EMC Corporation leading a vertical market practice for video surveillance as a sales overlay specialist for EMC’s storage and compute products & services. 

He as consulted for two non-profits, the Responsible AI Institute and AI2030.org, both organizations promoted the ethical and responsible use of AI.  Steve continues to give back to entrepreneurs and the start-up community as a mentor of MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service. 

In her current role at Babson, Susanne provides career coaching for graduate working professional students – including the Part Time MBA, CAM, and Blended Learning Miami MBA program – and all Babson alumni. She manages the following programs: Grad CCD Miami Connect, Ace Your Intro, Working Professionals Career Insights, Alumni Coach Corner, ACT Alumni Career Talk, and the Alumni Career Design & Launch program in collaboration with an external partner. A relationship builder and career coach at heart, Susanne thrives on helping people to grow, building new partnerships, designing and launching new programs/services as a response to market trends and learners’ needs, in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and through effective alumni / volunteer / partner engagement. 

Throughout her career as a senior career services professional, Susanne has provided career guidance and support systems for a broad variety of clients across industries and career levels and added value to the customer experience through a client-centric approach. She has comprehensive experience in career development and transition coaching in a variety of roles with leading, international HR consulting companies such as von Rundstedt & Partner GmbH, the German market leader in outplacement and career management consulting, and Odgers Berndtson, an international top executive search firm. Prior to Babson, Susanne worked as a career coach with MBA students at Boston University Questrom School of Business.  

Susanne earned a dual German and French master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources. She is a trained banker, a certified MBTI practitioner and business coach.

Fun Fact: Beyond work, you can find Susanne in the garden watching her plants grow, walking with her dog on trails, listening to music at a concert, or watching a ballet performance.

Erica DeBiase is a career advisor and coach who is passionate about helping graduate students identify and articulate their strengths, build confidence in their professional story, and pursue meaningful career paths. As a Babson MSEL’15 alum, she advises students across the One Year and Two Year MBA programs and MSEL programs through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and group sessions focused on career strategy, networking, interviewing, negotiation, and professional development. Erica leads the planning and delivery of Graduate CCD orientations for all five graduate cohorts, helping students establish career goals, navigate career resources, and build a strong foundation for their professional journey. She also supervises the Professional Branding Specialist student worker and a part-time career advisor, serves as the staff liaison for the Consulting Club, and leads case interview preparation.

Erica is especially passionate about strengths-based coaching and helping students discover their unique strengths. She enjoys preparing students for interviews and helping them connect their strengths, experiences, and values to careers that align with their goals. Prior to Babson, Erica served as Director of Academic & Career Development at the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she partnered with more than 70 accounting firms and over 30 colleges and universities to help students launch careers in professional services.

Fun Fact: Erica is beginning her own two-year master’s program and will be a graduate student herself, giving her firsthand perspective on the challenges, growth, and excitement her students experience throughout graduate school.

Julie has dedicated her career to supporting students in higher education through admissions, academic advising, cooperative education, and career services. At Babson, she advises MBA and MSBA students throughout the internship and full-time job search process, helping students identify opportunities aligned with their interests, strengths, and career goals. Julie is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students and empowering them to navigate career decisions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Asian American Studies from UCLA, a Master of Arts in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University. 

Julie also enjoys creating innovative career education initiatives. She designed and launched Biz E. Beaver’s Graduate Career Challenge in Fall 2025, a gamified Canvas program that helps graduate students build career readiness through interactive experiences and digital credentialing. The program was recognized as one of 16 global finalists in the GamiCon48V 2026 Throwdown Showcase, an international gamification competition. 

Julie’s work reflects a blend of career advising, creativity, and student engagement:

Maribeth brings extensive Human Resources and Talent Acquisition experience from Fortune 100 and 500 companies. Throughout her career, she has led recruitment teams, developed college recruiting programs, and partnered with senior leaders to identify and hire top talent. She has also mentored and coached professionals at all levels, helping them navigate career decisions, build professional skills, and advance their careers.

Prior to joining Babson, Maribeth served as Assistant Vice President of Talent Acquisition at The TJX Companies and Director of Talent Acquisition at Raytheon Technologies. In these leadership roles, she supported hiring across functions including Finance, Information Technology, Real Estate, Business Development, Purchasing, and Human Resources. Her experience managing recruitment teams provides valuable insight into what recruiters and hiring managers look for in resumes, interviews, and job candidates.

Maribeth also worked for a leading career consulting and outplacement firm, where she provided individualized career guidance to job seekers across all industries. Inspired by her passion for helping others achieve their professional goals, she transitioned from the corporate sector to higher education, where she now supports students as they navigate their career journeys.

Fun Fact:  I always have a Starbucks Refresher on my desk and when not in the office I love going to concerts, following true crime stories, and binge-watching detective dramas—especially when I can figure out the ending before everyone else. 

Nina has worked at Babson’s Graduate Center for Career Development since 2015. As the Operations Manager and Business Analyst, she oversees the systems, data, and technology that support the center’s operations and student experience. She uses data to measure outcomes, guide decision-making, and demonstrate the impact of Grad CCD’s work on student career success. Nina also manages the administrative coordinator role. 

Fun Fact: Nina is a Babson Alum, earning her MBA from the Evening MBA program in 2019.

Liz Canon has worked at Babson College in the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business since 2018.

As Communication Manager for the Graduate Center for Career Development (Grad CCD), Liz develops strategic communications that connect Babson’s graduate students, employers, and the broader Babson community with career resources and opportunities.

She partners with a wide range of campus stakeholders—including centers and institutes, student leaders, student organizations, faculty and staff, and employers recruiting Babson graduate talent—to promote programs, events, and collaborative initiatives.

Through newsletters, email campaigns, digital content, flyers, and other communication channels, Liz creates engaging, audience-centered messaging that increases awareness and participation in Grad CCD programs and partnership opportunities.

Liz has a BA in Literature from Wheelock College and an MA in Writing from Emerson College.

Fun Fact: Liz has experience teaching Research Writing (WRT-2000), a Babson undergraduate course that helps students put writing theory into practice through research-based writing for academic audiences.
